The Middle Class Benchmarks

According to more data in the Investopedia article, a government task force has characterized the American “Middle Class” in terms of six financial aspirations or benchmarks:

  1. Home ownership
  2. Automobile ownership
  3. College education for the kids
  4. Retirement security
  5. Health care coverage
  6. Family vacation

So these benchmarks give us a measuring stick to apply to our current financial situation as well as setting future goals.
