A Nice Quiet Christmas

The best thing I can say about my Christmas is that it was quiet. There was no drama, thank goodness.

I talked with, texted, or IM’d a variety of family members and friends and have been wished Merry Christmas so many times that I’ve lost count. But I appreciate the sincere wishes from everyone. That was nice.

We had a nice dinner of roast chicken and stuffing. I didn’t want to fuss with a turkey and have a lot of leftovers. I don’t like to waste food and a plump chicken roaster was plenty of food.

Cheesecake Varieties

I have been asked to provide the Cheescake for our family Easter dinner that is only a month away. So I decided to try and buy this Cheesecake online and found a great site with a great selection that I have gone ahead and placed an order with. I ordered four separate Cheesecakes with various toppings, as well as a Gourmet Sampler for folks to try some different flavors. If no one finds one that they like with this variety, I guess they can just eat pie.

It will be nice to see and be around family again. It has been since Christmas last we all got together for a meal. Easter is much more relaxed, but the kids with their Easter Egg Hunt and their Easter Baskets keep the excitement going the entire time. Next holiday will be Mother’s Day I guess, most of us try and get together with our mother. Most of us are scattered over the Memorial Day weekend so the next time will be Father’s Day, then half of the year 2012 will be over with.

Babysitting for a friend

One of my friends asked me to babysit for her tonight so she can go out to eat dinner with her hubby to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary.  I said, sure, I’d be glad to babysit.  They have a little baby that is only three months old, they said they’d bring the baby over here and come back to get her around nine.  So, I’m expecting them to arrive any minute now.  I adore babies, especially when they are so young that they can’t run away from you or talk back to you!  I love to rock them and cuddle with them.  I’m looking forward to babysitting this one, she is a sweetie pie!

Champagne and Chocolate

Wow, I just learned more in the few minutes that it to read the “A Toast To Champagne: History and Fun Facts” that I posted below than I’ve ever know about Champagne and I’ve put down some Champagne in my life, I can tell you that! So I thought I would post this little blurb here for grins and giggles. It’s just one of those days where a nice bottle of Champagne and a box of Chocolate would be Fantastic!

Online shopping

Do you enjoy shopping online? As consumers find that their spare time is becoming more precious, many of us are turning to shopping online instead of going to the local shopping mall. Within just a few minutes, the consumer can order a wild variety of goods, like leopard print plates for a housewarming gift, bamboo strands for making placemats for a craft class, and a
God Bless Our Home Cutting Board, all while dinner is being cooked in the microwave in the room next to the computer.

Using the Internet to shop has opened up the entire global shopping market to everyone that has an Internet connection. Many companies now offer free shipping, and having the goods delivered to your doorstep, or if it is a gift they offer giftwrapping, a gift card, and delivery to the recipients address. How’s that for convenience?! And best of all, there is no worries about finding a parking spot, or locating your car in the parking lot after a long day at the mall! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy shopping at the mall from time to time, but sometimes the mall just does not have what I’m looking for, and sometimes I just don’t have the energy to deal with it.
