Lock It Up

Are lockers just something you use as a kid in school? Well, no. School Lockers are the first thing that come to my mind when you mention lockers to me, but they are used in a variety of business and recreational settings.

As an adult I have used lockers in a variety of different settings. Anyone who changes into a uniform or a costume for their job most likely has a locker to store their street clothes. This includes policemen, nurses, firemen, actors and amusement park workers.

I’ve used lockers at a country club, at the outpatient surgery center, the spa, the water park, the gym and the airport. Although, to be fair, I believe most airports have removed public lockers due to safety concerns. But back in the 1980′s, before terrorism was such an issue, I had to leave some items in a locker at the airport because my flight was delayed and I couldn’t handle dragging all my packages and luggage around the airport for 6 extra hours. I don’t know what people do with all that stuff they need to take on a plane now that they can’t safely store it in lockers for a few hours.
