Broken Keyboard

Friday, April 1st, 2011

My new wireless keyboard was a prize for me. To finally become untethered and able to sit where ever I wanted and still be able to type on the computer was quite the freedom and the luxury.

I was sitting on the couch last night so I could put my aching feet up and I was watching the news on TV while checking Facebook, when one of my dogs jumped up on the couch and leaped into my lap. He was just happy to see me and wanted some attention, so I can’t blame him for that. But in the process, his foot mashed my wireless keyboard and now my backspace key does not work. Arrrgh!

Puppy sitting

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

My brother has asked me to puppy sit for him while he goes out of town on business next week.  His shih tzu puppy is only twelve weeks old, and cute as a button!  I went over to his place today to check out the situation and get my instructions on puppy care.  I was impressed by how he had put up pet gates and stairway gates to help keep the puppy out of danger.

I was especially impressed with the extra wide baby gates he had put in the wide doorways of the formal dining room.  He has a really expensive Oriental carpet in there that he wanted to take extra special care to not get chewed up or puppy peed on.  I’m really looking forward to spending the week playing with the new puppy!

Heartwarming

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

This is such a sweet video. There are other versions of this on YouTube, but they have ads on them that I’d rather avoid.  I’d love to know the history of this. I’m assuming it was shot in someone’s back yard who had the fawn and the cat as pets. If you know the history, fill me in!

Lost Puppy

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

A young dog wandered into our yard today and it caught my attention because it was so terribly thin. I believe this dog either lost its way or has been abandoned by its owners. It appears to be friendly and trained with a few basic commands. But I don’t know why it would be so thin if someone has been taking care of it properly. Its hard to tell how old he is, but I think he is still a puppy – definitely less than a year old.

I went ahead and put some dog food out in a big bowl, and a second bowl with fresh water. He ate it and then went to lie down under a tree on the side of my house. If he is still there when I get get home tonight, I will see if I can locate his owner and ask my vet to take a look at him to make sure he is not sick.

He Likes to Move It

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Have you heard the song on the Madagascar DVD? He likes to move it, move it. She likes to move it, move it. Sorry I don’t know the actual title or who sang it – but its a catchy song.

That song came to mind when I saw this cat grooving with the headphones.
