Huge turnout

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

So far I’ve only seen a couple of videos of “The Wedding.”  The first one that I saw was of the bridge and groom going out onto the balcony and waving to the crowds of well-wishers below.   You could see the surprise on Katherine’s face when she saw how many people were out there!  I have to say that I have not heard of any problems with crowd control breaches of security where any fans or protestors broke through the barricades of velvet rope and stanchions.

I knew that there were going to be some protests going on at the same time somewhere, but really have not heard of any news coverage of them yet.  So I guess that the protesters were a little bit disappointed on that front.  One thing is sure – the British people love their royal family!  I wish that Americans loved their Presidential family that much!

Did you get up early?

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Did you get up early to watch “The Wedding?” You know which one I’m talking about – The wedding of Prince William and Katherine. I slept right through it. I didn’t even TRY to get up to watch it. I had to go to work that day, and I knew that I would NOT be able to keep my eyes open and work after getting slim to none sleep the night before. So I was a responsible adult and just went to bed at my normal time. I do plan on watching some of the wedding’s videos at my leisure, so don’t worry about that!

Since the wedding, however, I’ve noticed a lot of facebook chatter from people who were very critical over the whole thing. I won’t even bother to repeat the nasty nonsense that was going on. I find it very sad that there are so many bitter people in the world that they would resort to criticizing anything about that wedding. I think that there are plenty of other things to be critical about – it would be nice to have a little break from it all and enjoy a bright moment of pageantry and romance. Those moments are few and far between, and should be cherished, not criticized!

Quick temper

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I’ve been hearing that a well known businessman wants to run for president.  Although I’m not surprised that he has that kind of confidence, I think that I would have some real concerns about his very public heated mud-slinging and insult-swapping incidences, and how that would relate to the international diplomacy that leading a country requires.

What do you think?  Do you think that a guy who has that quick a temper should be put into such a powerful position?

HUGE Moon Last Night!

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

i hope you had the chance to go outside and look at the huge moon last night. It was so awesome! I tried to get a picture with my digital camera, but it does not do well in the dark without a tripod. This photo was taken about 9:30 at night – it was bright white all night long!

Tragedy in Japan

Friday, March 11th, 2011

Many years ago I saw a movie called Earthquake in a movie theater.  The theater had been equipped with a special system that made the seats shake so that the audience felt what it would be like to actually be in an earthquake.  I have been terrified of earthquakes ever since.  This recent disasterous earthquake in Japan is very sad.  The tsunami also terribly sad.  The damage to the nuclear plant is terrifying!  I haven’t been able to listen or watch much of the news about it, but just thinking about what could happen to the entire earth as a result of the nuclear plant going into meltdown is one of the scariest things!

Thankfully I haven’t heard of any media idiots who are callous enough to claim that this is some kind of divine justice.  I hope none of them are doing that!
