New eyeglasses for little money

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

In this economy, most of the people that I know are trying to save money everywhere they can.  For quite a long time now, I’ve been hearing about being able to buy eyeglasses for as low as $6.95 a pair at the Zenni Optical website.

My biggest concern about buying glasses over the Internet is getting them to fit on my face once they arrive.  I have a very short temple, for one thing.  I don’t know how that issue (if it even IS an issue!) would be taken care of in the case of buying glasses over the Internet.

I’ve been hearing that they have been discussed on popular radio shows, and that they were mentioned in an article that was discussing ways to save money on eye care in the New York Times newspaper as a good place to get cheap back-up glasses. I checked out their website and found that they had over 200 pairs of glasses for $6.95! And I actually did see a couple of good looking pairs of $6.95 glasses that I would consider buying. I like the shape and the color; they are very much like what I already wear. Pretty soon it will be time for me to get a new pair of glasses, so I will be checking them out for sure!

Will it work?

My cousin’s girlfriend Bri has been raving about how much she loves her new magnetic bracelet.  She said that it has helped her arthritis tremendously!  So I started doing a little bit of research on magnetic therapy.  I couldn’t believe how many ailments magnets are supposed to help! From headaches, backaches, insomnia, stress, to diabetes!   Bri told me that she bought her bracelet at the billythetree.com website.  So I’ve gone online to check them out.

Their prices certainly seem reasonable enough, and they have a good shipping and satisfaction policy.  I think I’ll order one for myself and see if I notice any difference in how I feel!  Sometimes I wonder if these things “work” because of the placebo effect, so I’m always curious, yet cautious.  What is your experience?  Do you have any magnetic jewelry?  Has it improved your life?

Full fat cheese is good for you?!

Monday, September 19th, 2011

I was delighted to read on the health.msn.com website that researchers now say that full fat chees is good for you!  They say that it does NOT raise cholesterol levels, and actually helps dieters to lose weight!  That is really good news because I love cheese!  I have tried the low-fat stuff and I don’t like it – it has no flavor (except for cream chees, which is yummy!)  So I will no longer avoid cheese (I HAVE been avoiding cheese!) and can start buying it (and snacking on it!) on a regular basis again!

Need adjusting

So I went to the eye doctor and got new glasses.  Seems I need a prism added to my prescription because I have what is commonly referred to as “lazy eye.”  The eye doctor said I could do exercises with my eyes to correct it, or I could get prisms.  Well, I opted for the prisms because I don’t have time to exercise my eyes, and I needed glasses anyway because of astigmatisms.  So we ordered new glasses, and they got the prism amount wrong.  How do I know?  Because I have to wear the glasses at a 45 degree angle on my face if I want to see anything!  So I went back to the eye doctor and explained the situation, and they have ordered a new pair for me.

New Glasses

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

Most people take their good vision for granted. I know that I don’t think about how well I can see – until I find that I cannot see as well as I expected. For example, I had trouble reading the billboard signs along the highway, so I knew that it was time for a vision check up. Sure enough, my eyesight had deteriorated a little more than last time I was checked. I will need new glasses.
