Insurance Down Under

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

I really love how the Internet can give you a glance into other countries all over the world. Google has a few great translating sites that come in handy, but it can be time consuming and frustrating at times, so I try and stick to countries that I can understand the language better. Australia has always fascinating to me, I’d love to be able to go there at some point in my life time.

Today I had a bit of time to cruise the “net” and found an insurance company in Australia that I took the time to read a bit about. They offer affordable life insurance for their customers, along with accident and illness insurance, income protection insurance as well as cheap funeral insurance which is something that I wasn’t even aware of it’s existence, but it makes sense, anything to make life (and death) easier to deal with, right!

When the time comes that I get to take a trip to the “Land Down Under” you can be sure that the Internet will come into play for the majority of my needs in order to make it the best trip ever!

Could not believe my eyes

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Last night I was shopping at Sears to buy some new bedding.  Well, mother nature called so I went to the store’s ladies room.  When I entered the room I was really surprised to see a middle-aged lady holding a young boy (maybe about three years old) over the sink with his pants down.  She was telling him to pee in the sink!

She was just as surprised to see me enter the room, as I was to see her.  She said to me “the toilets are disgusting” and wrinkled up her nose.  I looked into the stalls and saw that the previous people had not flushed the toilets.  Yes, that is disgusting, but all one needed to do was to flush them!  So I entered one of the stalls and flushed the toilet and took care of my business.  I heard the lady rinse out the sink she was using and leave the room.

When I went to wash my hands, I was sure to use the sink that had not been peed in!  And I noticed that there were wet spots around the other sink.  I had to wonder if they were water spots, or urine spots.  Regardless, I was grossed out!

My Bathroom Do-It-Yourself Project

This post created by guest blogger Margery Charleston

Tired of looking at outdated floors and less than appealing faucets, it was time to tackle my next Home Improvement SEARS project-remodeling the bathroom. Most of the improvements to be made were pretty simple things. It wouldn’t require a lot of work, so out came the coveralls and the tools and my do-it-yourself job began.

Things went smoothly, as anticipated. With the assistance of a few Internet print-outs and a bathroom remodeling handbook, my stuck in the 80′s bathroom became a sophisticated, cozy little place nice to look at. None of the work was hard at all, and it is a job I can proudly say I completed!

We added new tile flooring which really makes the bathroom stand out. I was amazed at how easy it was to install. Also added was a new bathroom sink. This one features his and her sinks, complete with an antique look that is fabulous. More bathroom space has always been an issue, so a new vanity was also added. It matches the sink perfectly, and the bathroom now feels like a much more warm and relaxing place to take care of business!

The A-Team movie

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

We went to see the A-Team movie tonight. I was looking forward to the movie from the moment I saw the first teaser/trailer a few weeks ago when we went to see Iron Man 2. I’ve always loved to watch the television series of the A-Team, and I was curious to see how well the movie would portray the team. It was full of violence and gun fire and explosions – stuff I normally don’t enjoy watching. But knowing that it was the A-Team pulling off a crazy stunt that was eventually doing a good deed. I had heard from a few people that the movie wasn’t very good, but I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the A-Team television show.  It makes me want to watch more A-Team reruns!

Tosh.0

Thanks to my bud Stuart Simon for the post.

Once I was able to figure out my satellite tv installation, I have been watching this great show called Tosh.0. I have started recording all of the upcoming episodes that will play in the future for sure. I absolutely love how he takes clips of videos from the internet and pokes fun at them. You have to admit that one of the best things about the internet is the fact that so many people choose to put funny videos of themselves that show the folly of mankind quite accurately. Lots of the clips that people have posted that he pokes fun at are funny not by intention. I have been watching the reruns that have ran this week as well, and I really love this show. He even had Dave attel and other stand up comics do special bits for the show too. i have always loved the stand up of Daniel Tosh, even though he really reminds me of Hillary Swank.

I don’t have the time to sit and go through all of the epic fail videos that are abound all over the internet, but Tosh.O gets them all for me and condenses them into a single, 30 minute show. he will never run out of videos to make fun of, so this show should go on forever.
