Thursday, January 14th, 2010Online Colleges certainly seem to be increasing in popularity lately! I have many friends who are taking courses in their spare time through one online college or another. They are very excited about it because they tend to cost less money than brick and mortar colleges, and taking the courses online makes for an easier schedule. Most online courses you can take the classes at whatever time is convenient for you, so it is much easier than trying to fit in a class according to when you can get child care!
Many times a person’s employer can find a way to assist the student with tuition reimbursement which provides a lot of incentive as well! One of the things I like about taking courses online is that I can pause for a few minutes and take a break if I need to without disrupting an entire classroom! And note taking is much easier too! I’m not the kind of person that can sit through a long boring lecture and actually learn anything! My learning style is much more visual oriented. I learn best by reading and writing things down.
That makes online courses a better fit for me, and I think that may also be a big reason why so many other students are using online courses as well. Plus, you can go to class in your jammies if you want to!
