I have had the pleasure of attending a good share of trade shows in my time. Since while growing up my parents owned and ran their own small business, they took advantage of all that trade show have to offer. It is a great way to get the word out about your goods or service. The networking that goes on at these trade shows is worth it’s weight in gold if you know how to network and are a “people person”
My folks relied pretty heavily on my knowledge of the English language when they were first starting out. And they certainly didn’t have the nice trade show booths that are available and so easy to use these days. They made do with the folding card tables that were dragged from the house each time we set up at one of these exhibitions back in the day. These days they have really nice fancy affordable table skirts, literature holders, banner stands, pop ups, hanging overhead displays, pipe and drape sets and crowd control products that are just awesome for today’s trade shows.
We no longer rely on nor attend these events as much as we used to, but we do find that we enjoy attending one once in awhile, it’s good to get out with the family and learn what is out there in our community, meet new people, catch up with the old timers and the free give aways are always a nice treat to walk out the door with. Some times you come home with some pretty nifty items, and I like free.
